This is the fourth title in the British Rail Motive Power series produced by Track Record Rail Films in co-operation with Videoscene with on-screen dates and locations accompanied by a detailed 12-page booklet. Sourced from 121 hours of unused and unseen railway film, shot between 1981 and 1999 and all recorded with the original audio on tripod-mounted cameras, this is not just any old film. Highlights of Volume 4 include Class 45s featured at Sileby and Market Harborough. 45118 on a parcels train at Kettering stops to collect a van from the bay platform. 31113 at Dore with a rake of eight coaches for Manchester; at Clay Cross 45121 heads for Chesterfield with 45005 on a ballast for Toton. Superb footage from Birmingham New Street in 1982 and 1986 with 50041 and 46062, plus 47627, 47403, HSTs, 50024, 31423 and numerous 86s - and the fashions of the day, a platform full of trainspotters, mail being loaded, and coaches being tanked. Class 37s on passenger trains in the 1990s; summer Saturday trains to Llandudno with 40009, 40079, 40091, 20007+20032 and 47711 'Greyfriars Bobby' in large logo hauling a Holyhead to Euston train. Paignton in 1984 with 47503 and 31259; footage from the now-closed Tiverton Junction; 50001 and 50044 at Newton Abbot and 50049+D400 at Exeter. Footage from Tamworth, Lichfield Trent Valley Junction with manual level crossing gates and Rugeley Trent Valley. 58018 and 56060 haul HAA coal hoppers plus 86s and 87s and a Class 304 EMU. Footage from Galloway Ranger Railtour in June 1982 which featured 20195+20180 from Wolverhampton to Leeds, 37283 Leeds to Stranraer, 37283 Stranraer to Ayr, 40013 Ayr to Carlisle, 37259 Carlisle to Leeds and 20195+20180 Leeds to Wolverhampton.
