A Mediterranean Trilogy

J&K Video Production taking a look at three light rail and tramway systems surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea. Begins in Athens, Greece in 1980 with 1904 built wooden car sets still being used then a jump forward to 2002 where expansion is taking place as part of preparations for the 2004 Olympics. Also a look at the city trolleybus network and the modernization being done. The second feature takes us to Turkey and Istanbul’s Heritage Tramway. Tourist tramway opened in 1990 using 1.6 km of the original system which had been unused since the 1960s, also shown are some of the original trams being used. A look is also taken at a modern tunnel funicular system and modern tramway network in the city. The third part is on the holiday island of Majorca where original 1929 built wooden motor cars are still used on the Soller Electric Railway between Palma and Soller plus 1918 built motor trams coupled with 1985 toast rack trailers which operate on scenic tramway system between Soller and Puerto Soller.
