London Trolleybuses Part 2

This DVD following on from part 1 and continues looking at the replacement program of trolleybus operation ending to be taken over by busses. With stages 1 to 8 already shown in Part 1 we start with looking at stage 9 and route 513 from Hampstead Heath to Parliament Hill Fields, 517 North Finchley To Holborn, 613 Parliament Hill Fields to Holborn, 615 Parliament Hill Fields to Moorgate, 617 North Finchley To Holborn, 639 Hampstead to Moorgate and 653 Aldgate To Tottenham Court Road. On stage 10, trolleybuses were to be replaced on route 627 from Waltham Cross to Tottenham Court Road, route 629 from Enfield to Tottenham Court Road, route 659 from Waltham Cross to Holborn as well as route 679 from Waltham Cross to Smithfield. Stage 11 saw the end of trolleybuses on route 543 and 643 from Holborn to Wood Green, route 647 from Stamford Hill to London Docks and route 649 from Waltham Cross and Wood Green to Liverpool Street. Last stage of the replacement program in 1961 was that of stage 12 with buses replacing the trolleybuses on route 521 and 621 from Holborn to North Finchley as well as route 609 from Moorgate to Barnet and route 641 from Moorgate to Winchmore Hill. All other surviving routes were to be replaced by buses in 1962 under stages 13 and 44. Stage 13 had trolleybuses replacing busses on route 645 from Canons Park to Barnet, route 660 from North Finchley to Hammersmith, route 662 from Sudbury to Paddington and route 666 from Edgware to Hammersmith. Stage 14, the final stage of the trolleybus replacement program result in the last of the routes being taken over by buses. They were route 601 from Twickenham to Tolworth, route 602 from Ditton to Kingston Loop, route 603 from Tolworth to Kingston Loop, route 604 from Hampton Court to Wimbledon, route 605 from Teddington to Wimbledon, route 657 from Hounslow to Shepherd Bush and route 667 from Hammersmith to Hampton Court
