Nearly 4 hours on two discs has this production from Train Crazy in co-operation with Videoscene and the full assistance of Direct Rail Services taking us on board a cab ride on part of the journey in which makes up 6Z92, 09:20 Friday only scrap train which runs from Stockton to Sheerness operated by Direct Rail Services. DVD features part of the journey from Derby to Clapham Junction whilst another part of the journey from Stockton to Derby can be found on Riding The DRS Scrap Train Part 1, order code TC064. The journey was filmed on Friday 10th September with double headed class 37’s 37229 and 37667 hauling 18 loaded scrap wagons which makes up a train weight of 1,580 tons. Journey begins on disc one in the up goods line next to Derby Station and departing along the Derby Curve taking the up main to Sheet Stores Junction where the Midland Main Line is joined and the train routed along the up slow line through East Midlands Parkway and platform 2 at Leicester.
From Leicester the up main is taken through Market Harborough and onward to Kettering North Junction where the slow line is taken through platform 2 at Kettering and further along through platform 3 at Wellingborough. Beyond Wellingborough we pass through the 1 mile 90 yard Sharnbrook Tunnel. Still taking the slow line we pass on through platform 3 at Bedford and then disc 1 coming to a conclusion near Elstow Brickworks. Disc 2 resumes just after passing by Elstow Brickworks and the journey continues along the Midland Main line being routed on u slow passing through 715 yard Ampthill Tunnel and then through Flitwick. Final part of the journey along Midland Main line passes through Harpenden, St Albans, Radlett, Elstree and Borehamwood and Mill Hill Broadway. After Mill Hill Broadway is Silkstream Junction where the Midland Main Line is left behind and the up Hendon line is taken. A crew change takes place in platform 4 at Hendon with the journey then continuing to rent Curve Junction and taking the down Cricklewood Line. Journey then takes the down North London Line at Acton Wells Junction and the route is followed all the way to Kew Junction. From Kew Junction the down Hounslow line is taken then on to the down Winsor Line at Barnes Junction. The Rest of our journey which we follow is made along the down Winsor Line passing through Clapham Junction and onward passing by Stewarts Lane depot and then to Wandsworth Road where the DVD comes to a close.
