Description
2 hour double disc production from Train Crazy in co-operation with Videoscene and the full assistance of Direct Rail Services takes us on board a cab ride on part of the journey in which makes up 6Z92, 09:20 Friday only scrap train which runs from Stockton to Sheerness operated by Direct Rail Services. DVD features part of the journey from Stockton as far as Derby whilst another part of the journey from Derby to Clapham Junction can be found on Riding The DRS Scrap Train Part 2, order code TC066. The journey was filmed on Friday 10th September with double headed class 37’s 37229 and 37667 hauling 18 loaded scrap wagons which makes up a train weight of 1,580 tons. Begin the journey on disc 1 at T. J Thompson scrap yard in Stockton heading out along the up Stockton line. On passing through Eaglescliffe the Eaglescliffe Up line if taken to Longlands Junction where the slow line is taken along the East Coast Main Line. Route along East Coast Main Line on the down slow takes us through Thirsk then onward to Skelton Junction on the approach to York where the station avoider line is taken for a stop to be made in the York up Yard for a crew change to take place. On completion of the crew change, train departs via Holgate Junction and taking the up Leeds Line. From Colton Junction the route takes on the up Normanton Line and pass through Church Fenton. From here we get to Milford Junction and take the up Pontefract line which sees disc 1 conclude. Disc 2 resumes on the up Pontefract Line just beyond Milford Junction and pass by Ferrybridge Power Station and head on to Swinton. Shortly after Swinton is Swinton South Junction in which has the journey taking the up main line. Up Barrow Hill line is then made from Marshborough Station North Junction and the train makes a stop for run round of locomotives to be made in Barrow Hill up Sidings. With the run round of locomotives completed the train departs using Barrow Hill South Junction and re-joining the up Barrow Hill Line to Tapton Junction and taking the up goods line through Chesterfield. Beyond Chesterfield is Clay Cross Junction and the up Derby line taken to Ambergate South Junction. At Ambergate South Junction the up main line is followed before being routed on to the up goods line at St Marr’s North Junction. The route takes the train to the up goods line next o Derby station where the train stops and the DVD concludes.
