Description
Double disc production from Train Crazy in co-operation with Videoscene and with the full assistance of Direct Rail Services to take a cab ride in May 2011 on board class 66 diesel locomotive formerly 66414 “James The Engine” as it hauls 4H47, the Tesco Intermodal service from Mossend to Inverness via the Scotland Highland Main Line. Journey begins with a very early 05:00 start out of Mossend Yard heading on to the up Coatbridge Line as far as Gartsherrie Junction and taking the down Perth line and then the down main upon reaching Larbert Junction and on to Sterling. Train pauses at Sterling to allow a change of crew, which once this had been completed the journey moves on to Bridge Of Allan, Dunblane then Gleneagles towards Perth and onwards to Stanley Junction. From Stanley Junction the line becomes single track and we pass on through Dunkeld and Birnam, Pitlochry and then to Blair Atholl where it returns to double track running and we take the down main as we climb towards Druimuachdar Summit which is where first disc concludes. Disc 2 resumes as we climb on to Druimuachdar Summit and then on to Dalwhinnie. At Dalwhinnie we once again run along single track section through Kingussie and passing Kincraig Loop to Aviemore. After Aviemore the train crosses over Slochd Viaduct and climbing to Slochd Summit at 1,315 feet above sea level to proceed onwards to Culloden. From Culloden the line reverts to double track in which sees us taking the down main to Cradlehall Crossovers and then on to the Up Main in to Inverness Yard the train terminates. DVD concludes with scenes at Inverness yard
