Riding The DRS Express Part 1 Daventry To Carlisle

3 ½ hour double disc production from Train Crazy in co-operation with Videoscene and the full assistance of Direct Rail Services takes us on board a cab ride on part of the journey in which makes up 4S43, the Tesco Intermodal from Daventry Rail Freight Terminal to Grangemouth. The service which is operated by Direct Rail Services was filmed during October 2009 on board class 66 shed diesel locomotive 66413. This DVD features the part of the journey from Daventry Rail Freight Terminal as far as Carlisle whilst part of the journey which goes onward from Carlisle to Grangemouth can be found on riding the DRS Express Part 2, order codeTC059. Starting out on disc 1 with a quick look around Daventry Rail Freight Terminal then with a departure at 06:30 leaving via Daventry North Junction on to Northampton Loop Line travelling along the slow line. Then at Hilmonton Junction we take the south flyover and passing through platform 2 at Rugby. Beyond Rugby we reach Brinklow Junction and take on the slow line as part of the Trent Valley Route in which we pass through Attleborough Junction and through Nuneaton via platform 2. After Nuneaton the journey passes on through Tamworth, Lichfield Trent Valley and onward through Rugeley Trent Valley. As we carry onward and head through platform 5 at Stafford the train takes on the West Coast Main Line and head along down slow line to Crewe where we stop in platform 11 for a crew change to take place. After completion of the crew change the journey continues to take the down slow line along West Coast Main Line and pass through Warrington Bank Quay platform 3 which see the end of disc 1. Disc 2 resumes just after passing Warrington Bank Quay still taking the West Coast Main Line down slow route through platform 5 at Wigan North Western then platform 3 at Preston. After Preston the route is followed through Lancaster, Carnforth, Oxenholme and then Penrith prior to taking platform 3 at Carlisle where the DVD concludes.
