Description
A double disc Train Crazy production in co-operation with Videoscene and with the full assistance of Direct Rail Services taking us on a cab ride on board class 47 diesel locomotive 47501 “Craftsman” hauling a Rail Blue charter on 25th August 2010 from Carlisle to Preston along the Cumbrian Coast. Action starts out at Carlisle Kingmoor Depot with an empty stock working, departing at 14:15 and taking the up avoiding line as far as Kingmoor Junction. From Kingmoor Junction we travel along the up goods line before taking the down main at Caldew Junction to Carlisle. Picking up rail tour passengers in platform 1 at Carlisle the train then departing at 14:45 to begin the journey along the Cumbrian Coast at Carlisle South Junction initially taking the up Maryport and Carlisle line until joining the up main at Currock Junction. Journey then passes on through Dalston, Maryport and also Workington. Beyond Workington we reach Parton North Junction and run along the short section of single track to Parton South Junction where we re-join double track and going along the up main as far as Bransty Junction. At Bransty Junction, once again the line becomes single track in to Whitehaven. Upon leaving Whitehaven we immediately pass through 1,283 yard long Whitehaven Tunnel and continue along the single track to Corkickle and onward to St Bees. After an exchange of token at St Bees the journey carries along single track running passing through Nethertown, Braystones and on to Sellafield. Back on double track from Sellafield the run along the up main going through Seascale and Drig with first disc concluding as we approach Ravenglass for Eskdale. Disc 2 resumes on the approach to Ravenglass for Eskdale running along the up main as part of the Cumbrian Coast passing through Bootle and Silcroft to get to Millom. Beyond Millom journey continues to pass Green Road, Foxfield, Kirkby in Furness and Askam to reach Park South Junction and then taking single track section to Barrow in Furness. At Barrow in Furness the return to double track and run on the up main to pass Rose and head over Dalton Junction to get to Dalton. After Dalton the Cumbrian Coast continues to be followed passing Ulverston and Grange over Sands before entering Carnforth. At Carnforth we leave the Cumbrian Coast as we run over Carnforth North Junction and travel along the West Coast Main Line and running on the up main via Lancaster and into platform 6 at Preston where the train terminates and the DVD comes to a conclusion.
