Description
Double disc Train Crazy production in co-operation with Videoscene and with the full assistance of Direct Rail Services takings a cab ride behind 6J37, a log train from Carlisle to Warrington via the Settle and Carlisle Line hauled by class 66 diesel locomotive 66848. Starting out at Carlisle Yard where we get to see the train being loaded before departing at 12:50 and heading out via Kingmoor Junction to take up avoiding line then up goods line and eventually on to the up main in to platform 3 at Carlisle. Upon leaving Carlisle we take the up Newcastle line before starting to travel along the Settle and Carlisle route and along the up main at Petteril Junction and onward to Armathwaite. From Armathwaite we pass through Appleby then over Ornside Viaduct as the 1 in 100 climb begins through Kirkby Stephen and reaching Ais Gil Summit at 1,169 feet above sea level following by dropping down in to Garsdale. After Garsdale we pass through Dent which is the highest railway station in Britain at 1,156 feet above sea level with disc 1 concluding as the approach is made to Artengill Viaduct. Disc 2 then resumes on the approach to Artengill Viaduct as we continue on the up main along the Settle and Carlisle Line and enter the 1 mile 869 yard long Blea Moor Tunnel and then over the impressive Ribblehead Viaduct to Ribblehead. After Ribblehead we continue to pass through Horton in Ribblehead, through Settle and onwards to Hellifield where we join the North Lancashire line and then the freight only up Branch to Clitheroe. Beyond Clitheroe we cross Whaley Viaduct which is the largest viaduct in Lancashire then reaching Daisyfield Junction to take the up East Lancashire line towards Blackburn. Passing through platform 2 at Blackburn the journey continues along the up East Lancashire line to Lostock Hall Junction where we take the freight only curve to Farrington Junction and joining the West Coast Main line up slow line prior to taking the up main at Balshaw Lane Junction to Wigan North Western. Upon going through Wigan North Western platform 4 we reach Springs Branch Junction to take the up fast to Golborne Junction then along the up main as far as Winwick Junction. At Winwick Junction train travels along the up slow then at Warrington North Junction we take the up goods where the DVD comes to a conclusion.
