Description
A train crazy production in connection with Videoscene and Devon and Cornwall Railway in which we take a cab ride filmed in August 2013 on a Devon and Cornwall Railway operated coal train from York to Butterwell. The train running as 6250 features 17 JNA box wagons and is hauled by class 56 grid diesel locomotive 56312. Journey begins with a departure time of 08:40 away from Holgate sidings at York heading on to East Coast Main Line at Skelton Junction, passing the site of former Alne Station, Passing site of former Pilmoor Station then passing Green Lane Junction and through Thirsk. After Thirst the journey passes site of former Otterington Station then passing Longland Juntion before heading through Northallterton. Remaining on East Coast Main Line as train passes Castle Hill Junction, then the site of former Danby Wiske Station, passing the site of former Cowton Station, crossing East Cowton Crossovers, going over Craft Viaduct and passing site of former Craft Spa Station. Heading onwards going through Darlington, Crossing over River Skerne Viaduct and over Aycliffe viaduct before passing the site of former Aycliffe station as well as passing the site of former Bradbury Station. Followed by going through Ferryhill, crossing Hett Mill Level Crossing, passing the site of former Croxdale Station then over Langley Moor Viaduct, Relly Mill Viaduct and over Durham Viaduct prior to travelling through Durham Station. After Durham, the train passes over Plawsworth Station prior to going over South Burn Dene Viaduct and through Chester Le Street Station. From here we pass over Chester Le Street Viaduct, crossing over Ouston Crossovers, through Birtley Junction then passing the site of former Lanesley Station before passing Low Fell Junction, Passing the site of former Bensham Statio, traversing King Edward Bridge North Junction, going over King Edward Bridge and heading through platform 2 at Newcastle. The journey continues on East Coast Main Line traversing Newcastle East Junction, Crossing Dean Street crossover, passing Manors Station, traversing Argyle Street Junction and thrugh 98 yeard Red Barns Tunnel followed by passing the site of former Heaton Station, traversing Heaton South Junction, passing Heaton Motive Power Depot, traversing Heaton North Junction, traversing Benton Junction, passing site of former Forest Hall Station, passing the site of former Annitsford Station and over Dam Dykes level crossing. This is followed by passing through Cramlington Station and onward passing site of former Plessey Station, going over Plessey Viaduct, Passing the site of former Stannington Station and through Morpeth. From Morpeth we pass Pegswood station then diverge away from East Coast Main ine at Bulterwell Junction to take single track freight only branch to Butterwell and on to coal loading facility at Potland Burn.
