Revel in discovery at the history of Northern Liner from opening in 1890 from King William Street to Stockwell then opening of the line in 1900 from Borough to Moorgate. Learn on how Northern Line then took on the Hampstead Tube from Strand to Camden Town plus branches to Golders Green and Archway and also the historic forms of traction that was used at the time. Watch as the 1920s become a decade of expansion and improvement through the system then into 1930’s line from Moorgate to Finsbury Park, also the line fro East Finchley to High Barnet and from Mill Hill East to Finchley Central become part of the Northern Line. See how instrumental the deep tube stations of the Northern Line were as they acted as air-raid shelters during the war. Go ahead into the 1960s and behind the scenes with operations at Camden Town in the signal cabins plus the necessary transfer of stock following the 1964 closure of the line from Finsbury Park to Drayton Park. DVD then continues through the years with rolling stock alterations that were made to improve the system whilst in 1990 centaury celebrations that took place both at London Transport Museum of Covent Gardens and on the system at East Finchley are featured. Further features of the history include the reconstruction of the angel station during the early 1990s and also the refurbishment of Norden Depot. Workshops of Adtranz in Derby are shown building new rolling stock for the Northern Line which is then seen being delivered at West Ruislip. Present-day scenes filmed the early 2000s are then featured following the Northern Line from Euston going via Kings Cross St Pancras, Angel, Old Street, Moorgate, Drayton Park, Finsbury Park, Bank, London Bridge, Borough, Elephant and Castle, Oval, Stockwell, Clapham North and then Clapham Common. Then discover from Chalk Farm via Belsize Park, Hampstead, Golders Green, Brent Cross, Hendon Central, Collingdale, Burnt Oak then terminating at Edgware. Look at present-day Northern Line and local connections from Mornington Crescent via Euston, Warren Street, Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square, Charing Cross, and Embankment and into Waterloo. Discover by Northern Line from Camden Town through Kentish Town, Tufnell Park, Archway, Highgate, East Finchley, and into Finchley Central and then onwards to Mill Hill East than from Finchley Central via West Finchley, Woodside Park, Totteridge and Whetstone and into High Barnet. See present-day from Clapham South via Balham, Tooting Beck, Tooting Broadway, Colliers Wood, and South Wimbledon into Morden.
