Marsden Rail Volume 33 - York To Newcastle

Marsden Rail production carrying on from Marsden Rail Volume 32 – Kings Cross to York. DVD starts with scenes filmed originally between 1945 and 1965 illustrating by use of a variety of both steam and diesel traction why York has always been an attraction to railway enthusiasts. Then we head thirty miles north to Northallerton and also the branch to Hawes. Next scenes start at Eryholme Junction with branch to Richmond and Catterick shown just prior to closure. This is followed by action at Darlington which was a major rail centre and could be reflected by two stations, locomotive works and a large motive power depot. A DMU journey is taken from Darlington to Bishop Auckland in 1965 plus journeys to Middleton in Teesdale, Barnard Castle and Kirkby Stephen. Heading further north with scenes at Shincliffe followed by film dating form 1962 at Durham. Then scenes at Low Fell and Bensham with final sequences filmed at Newcastle Central and nearby Gateshead Motive Power Depot.
