Marsden Rail Volume 32 - Kings Cross To York

Marsden Rail Production starting with views from early 1960’s and scenes of London North Eastern Railway Pacific’s working mainline services out of London Kings Cross complemented by scenes of London Kings Cross Motive Power Depot using footage originally recorded between 1944 and 1963.We then join London North Eastern Flyer excursion hauled by London North Eastern Railway A3 60106 “Flying Fox” and leave London heading north through Hitchin, Bigglswade and Sandy before arriving at Peterborough. Using a range of footage originally recorded between 1948 and 1964, an immense range of steam traction is shown at Peterborough North. Following feature is with British Railway Britannia Pacific’s working services of former direct route that went from Peterborough via Alford, Firsby, Boston and Werrington Junction to Cleethorpes. Heading north from Peterborough and scenes from 1960’s of East Coast Main Line action at Essendine, Newark, Peascliffe Tunnel and Great Pontoon. Action at Grantham of steam and diesel trains is then featured including a visit round Grantham Motive Power Depot. Continuing northwards to Doncaster and a visit to Doncaster Motive Power depot and works using a vast range of footage ranging between 1945 and 1965. We then join a service from Goole to Selby followed by action recorded at Church Fenton and Ulleskelf. DVD finishes at York with action at the station and motive power depot where changes of traction over the years I highlighted with footage originally recorded between 1931 and 1967
