Marsden Rail Volume 22 - Lickey Incline

Marsden Rail production using footage recorded between 1960 and 1968 of the famous steeply graded 1 in 37 Lickey Incline between Birmingham and Gloucester. DVD starts by looking at some other of the steeply graded inclines in the area such as the steep climb out of Stourbridge Town Goods Yard and of gravity shunting methods as used at Kidderminster. These scenes give a great introduction for the main feature of the DVD, Lickey Incline where various forms of traction shown tackling 2 miles of 1 in 37 gradient, which also necessitated use of banking engines
