Description
A double disc production by J & K Video tracing the history and operation of D Stock on London Underground since first entering service in 1980 right up to the last day of public service on 21st April 2017. Disc one begins with an introduction to the construction, delivery and entering of service for the D Stock including detail features. Next section is a feature of Metroliner Railtour using D Stock running over the Metropolitan Line in September 1980. This is followed by taking a look at the operation of the sock whilst briefly on East London Line. Also featured is an open day held at Upminster Depot held over a weekend in August 2009 to celebrate 50 years since the depot first opened. Attention then focuses on to operation of D Stock on the District Line, firstly between Upminster and Earls Court, then along the Kensington Olympia branch, also between Earls Court and Ealing Broadway as well as between Turnham Green and Richmond. Final part of the first disc features operation of D stock working between West Brompton and Wimbledon. Dis 2 then features the last day of public service for the D Stock on 21st April 2017 as well as a farewell railtour that ran on 7th May 2017
