Description
A J and K Video production in which takes a look at North London Line which forms part of London Overground network although the line itself has origins dating back to the opening of North London Railway in 1880. DVD begins taking a look at the history of the line through the years. British Rail days of the 1970’s and 1980’s are shown using class 416 EPB units and class 501 Electric Multiple Units. Then a look through the 1990’s period of Network South East and the use of class 313 electric multiple units that were then replaced with the introduction of London Overground operations and then the change to class 378 Capitalstar Electric Multiple Units. This then brings in the detailed look at the North London Line starting out at the eastern terminus of Stratford and the route to Cannonbury, a route which averages 14 minutes to cover 3.9 miles. Next 2.1 miles of route to be featured in detail goes from Highbury and Islington to Kentish Town West, a journey which takes on average 8 minutes. An average of 11 minutes is normally taken for the next detailed part of the route from Gospel Oak heading for 3.r miles to Kensal Rise. Two routes are featured from Willesden Junction, first of these to be looked at heads to Richmond, a route o 5.6 miles that takes an average of 20 minutes to complete. The second route from Willesden Junction goes on for 6.2 miles to Clapham Junction, a route that by train takes an average of 20 minutes to cover.
