Description
An Online Video production as of 2013 looking at cinemas of past and present in the county of Kent. DVD features a wide range of footage that has been collected some dating back as early as 1914. A brief history and overview of cinematography is given with the story of Kent Cinemas beginning with the former cinemas that have closed but remain in use for other purposes such as towns of Deal and Tunbridge Wells that both at one time boasted four cinemas. Also a look at the small place of Tenterden that itself once had two cinemas. Also a look at restoration work that was taking place to return a cinema back to the former Odeon in Faversham. We also see cinemas in which still use older style of projection methods and have not yet become digitalised such as Carlton Cinema in Westgate on Sea. We look at former cinemas that have been located in Dover with scenes from behind the scenes in the projectionist room at town silver screen cinema. DVD finishes off with a special feature including a full tour of Empire Cinema in Sandwich.
