Description
An Online Video production taking a look back at some of the long-lost cinemas which once played out films for many visitors but have now closed their doors with footage some of which dates back as early as 1914. By taking a look at these wonderful historic buildings and discovering their history we also see other special features such as the construction of the Ritzy Cinema at Burnham on Sea and the first day of opening to the public in 1936. Also, see behind the scenes including a visit to the projectionist room at the former Regent in Amersham. A glimpse is taken with the last ever show that was put on in 1974 at Odeon Temple Fortune. The next scenes are of this building then undergoing demolition in 1982. Further scenes of projectionist rooms include Canon Cinema in Edgware followed by a look at some older cinemas that are still working with an older style of projection. The final scene on the DVD is a look at other cinemas that have closed and what remains of them. This DVD is a perfect viewing for enthusiasts and historians in which look at some former well loved cinemas
