British Rail Motive Power 1981 - 1999 Volume 9

This is volume 9 in the British Rail Motive Power series produced by Track Record Rail Films in co-operation with Videoscene with on-screen dates and locations accompanied by a detailed 12-page booklet. Sourced from 121 hours of unused and unseen railway film, shot between 1981 and 1999 and all recorded with the original audio on tripod-mounted cameras, this is not just any old film. Highlights of Volume 9 include footage from Salisbury and Basingstoke area in 1988/89 with Class 33s on Portsmouth trains, 47120 shunting in the station, 50041 departs for Waterloo plus a blue 'Bubble' and Class 207 Thumper. A variety of motive power in North Wales around Llandudno Junction including 47s on containers and passenger; 25s and 40s on freight, 40122 on a Railtour, EWS 37s from the late 1990s and various 101s. In the Thames Valley, action from Oxford and Reading with 47s and 50s on passenger trains, various HSTs, BR green 37350 and the mega-rare sight of a HST power car with a Mk I BG coach. At Birmingham New Street lots of BR blue action with 85s, 86s and 87s on Cross Country and Euston services, various DMUs including a brown and cream set with a Class 128 DPU. 50015 works a service to Paddington and young spotters attempt to take a rubbing of 'City of Milton Keynes' nameplate. Along the East Coast Main Line, footage from Doncaster, York and Newcastle with 31185, 37008 and450050 at Doncaster, BR green 08847 shunting in the Works, a very steamy40050 at York and 31139 at Newcastle. Footage from the early 1980s at Chester with Class 25s on freight. Westward Whistler railtour ran on 16th October 1982, featuring 40057+40084 from York to Plymouth. Footage comes from BNS, a photo stop at Cheltenham, Plymouth and then various moves on Laira depot.
